Joel E. Kautz

Mr. Kautz was born and raised in Colorado.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2003, and thereafter began working at a Fortune 500 insurance company as a claims representative handling bodily injury claims.

In 2004, Joel relocated Sacramento and enrolled at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2006.  While attending law school, he worked full-time as a commercial insurance underwriter.  He finished law school a semester early, graduating With Distinction.  While in law school Joel was part of the Appellate and International Advocacy Honors program, and was inducted into the Traynor Honor Society.  

After graduating from law school and passing the February 2010 California Bar Examination Joel worked at a local insurance company handling the company’s regulatory compliance concerns.  Joel joined the Lenahan law firm in 2011 and currently works in the office’s workers’ compensation defense practice as an associate attorney.

While not practicing law, Joel enjoys hunting, boating, and spending time with family, friends, and his wife Jennifer.
